Participate
Only 2 in 10 North Carolina lawyers currently volunteer to
handle cases at no charge for Legal Aid of North Carolina. While
many lawyers provide a great deal of services without charge, the
goal of 4ALL is to increase the number of volunteer lawyers who
represent the poor.
The NCBA will work with media outlets, including newspapers,
television and radio, to provide this important community
service.
To encourage and increase participation by members of the North
Carolina legal community in the provision of legal services to the
poor is the goal of "Participate."
Call Centers
Volunteers will staff call centers across North Carolina.
The call centers are located in Asheville (WLOS), Cary/Spanish only
(NC Bar Center), Charlotte (WBTV), Greensboro (The Volunteer
Center/WFMY), Greenville (WNCT), Raleigh (WRAL) and Wilmington
(Williams Mullen). Volunteers will receive more information about
call center assignments.
On Friday, March 2, 2012, North Carolinians can call to talk, by
phone, to a North Carolina lawyer at no charge. The attorneys will
be available from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Please check back
for updates on what numbers will be available for the
event.
